Valerie Khoo is a Sydney-based freelance journalist who founded the Australian Writers' Centre in 2005 (previously the Sydney Writers' Centre), a business which runs short commercial writing courses for the public.

Khoo trained as an accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers before studying a Graduate Diploma in Communication (journalism, public relations) and joining a national public relations firm.

She has also worked for various publishing companies including ACP Magazines, EMAP and Pacific Magazines.

Khoo runs a weekly business blog called Enterprise which is published on the websites of the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and Brisbane Times.

In 2008, her Sydney Writers' Centre blog was included in Smart Company's list of Top 15 Best Business Blogs.
