ShaadiSaga is an online wedding planning platform and wedding blog, primarily for weddings in India, which enables Indian brides and grooms to explore wedding ideas, wedding expert advice, photos and find wedding services like wedding photography, bridal make-up artist, etc. in various Indian cities. ShaadiSaga was launched in 2014 in New Delhi. ShaadiSaga also lets couples create their personal wedding website and send out e-invites to their guests.

History
Himanshu Kapsime and Manish Garg, the company's founders are both old friends and graduates of IIT Delhi. In an earlier interview, they've said that it was just a chance that prompted the idea of ShaadiSaga. They were confused about what should they gift a friend getting married. On further discussion, they realized that weddings in India are conducted in an inefficient manner and the industry had the need for a wedding planning platform to organize wedding services. Himanshu quit his then job to develop the first version of the website and test it out but soon ran out of money. "Friends and family kept us afloat whenever there was a need. Wedding planning being such a complicated industry, not many people believed that we could pull it off," he has said earlier.

The founders have said it was important for them to be able, to sum up all the wedding planning, rituals and celebration aspect of weddings in India, which are called shaadi in Hindi. They said a wedding is the beginning of a long and beautiful journey for two people, bringing the English word saga. Thus, ShaadiSaga.

Services
According to Inc42, ShaadiSaga provides couples getting married with details of local photographers, makeup artist, choreographers, wedding planners and more wedding services, based on their requirements. "There is no price transparency or standardization, the vendor quotes a price depending on the car you are driving," the company's CEO told CNBC, and that their platform provides a fair collection of wedding vendors.
They also offer the creation of personal wedding website to share wedding details with friends and family. ShaadiSaga's blog offers latest wedding trends and stories from real weddings in India.
Major developments
In January 2015, ShaadiSaga raised an undisclosed amount from Outbox Ventures aimed at increasing the number of wedding service categories that they offer.
In May 2016, ShaadiSaga raised pre-Series A round (amount undisclosed) from a group of investors led by ah! Ventures. Other major investors included industry stalwarts like Anupam Mittal (shaadi.com), Kunal Shah & Sandeep Tandon (Freecharge), Dheeraj Jain (Redcliffe Capital), Rohit Chokhani (White Unicorn Ventures).
In December 2016, Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh got married to Bigg Boss 7 contestant Hazel Keech, which was the most talked-about Indian wedding of the year. ShaadiSaga was their official wedding planner. In November 2017, another Indian cricketer Bhuvneshwar Kumar got married to his girlfriend Nupur. This celebrity wedding too was planned by ShaadiSaga.
